Ad Grants Overspending Bug Identified – Google Working on Fix

If you’ve noticed unusual spending behavior in your Google Ad Grants account recently, you’re not alone.
Chris Taylor, Senior Program Manager at Google.org for Ad Grants, has shared that the Ad Grants team has identified a technical issue causing some accounts to exceed their monthly $10,000 budget cap.
What You Need to Know:
- It’s a known issue. Google’s engineering team is actively working to determine the root cause and implement a fix.
- You won’t be penalized. Any overages will not result in penalties, suspensions, or reductions in future budgets. Your account’s standing remains safe.
- Resolution is in progress. Google expects the issue to be resolved by the end of next week.
While no list of affected accounts has been provided, if you’re seeing anomalies in your Ad Grants account spend, this may be the reason.
At Kinsey Street, we’re continuing to monitor all client accounts and will ensure that any impacted organizations are kept informed. If you have questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out.
We appreciate the Ad Grants team’s commitment to more frequent communication, and we’ll continue to share updates as they become available.
